Our two daughters aged 5 and 7 attended Sharon’s group.
My husband and I visited many after care centres, including the one attached to the school where our daughters are now in Grade 0 and Grade 2, when looking for the ideal place for our little miracles and we were completely beside ourselves. Whilst many of the schools clearly had dedicated teachers and spotless facilities - we just couldn’t see ourselves leaving our precious children with 15 or 20 other children – where we knew without a doubt that they would not be a priority – simply because there were too many children. We wanted them to receive the specialized individual attention that every child deserves – and needs - in order to feel valued and special and to reach their full potential.
Sharon’s Group has been an utter Blessing – our daughters were ecstatically happy there and were treated with unconditional love, warmth and gentleness – as are all the children. Every single day is an adventure and at the end of each month, each child receives a floating trophy - whether in recognition of academic excellence or any area in which they have improved and progressed. We are constantly amazed – not only at the stunning effort that our children have made but at the fact that each child is recognised - whether or not they struggled during the month! Because all homework, including reading, spelling and preparation for projects and
show and tell are completed by the time we fetch them, as parents we are able to
spend our evenings playing and enjoying our children, as opposed to struggling through
hours of homework. They have the opportunity to interact and socialize with a variety
of other children, but the group is small enough that they never get lost in the
class – every child really does matter –all the time.
We can tell from the other happy after school kids and the pride in their faces when they run up the driveway to show teacher Sharon their latest reports, that there is nowhere else in the world we would place our daughters. Sharon’s Group is a Blessing – and our children deserve nothing less.
